Re: What songs are you currently learning?
Wow. That is quite high. 8/9 ... But, I guess its at a grade 8-9 when you play it like you do. I guess I wont be playing it so beautifull at first Hopefully I am reeally tallented
And nails it pretty good in a couple of months.
I have seen you video a coupple of times actually It is really pretty. Maby I will upload a prgogress report for the first, and parhaps easyest two bars in a coupple of days, to see if Im on right track

Try to stick with stuff thats on YOUR level only. You can definitely play songs that are probably grade 8-9 but it's going to take you a while to actually learn it with fully potential.
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
I can probably upload a vid of me, practiced a couple of houres in the easyest first two bars, and you can say if you think I should contiue or not. I am actually managing fairly okay, after 2 houers of practice.
So I will be satisfied to learn it, and use some weeks, and have it as a practicesong for some time to come.
If it is really terrible* Then, I guess I will listen, but if its OK, then Ill continue, couse I just love to practice on it. Even though it is a big challange

Re: What songs are you currently learning?
While I am chiefly pratising "Younha - Houki Boshi" right now, I found this "Jahn Teigen - Det vakreste som fins" that I've been
practising a little bit this week, as it's not that hard. And it's always fun to play pieces your "done" with.
Houki Boshi playd by someone else than me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHpMWYCKQq4
I usually play "FFX - To Zanarkand" and "MacGyver Theme" every day to. What's scary is that I've noticed that I've forgotten the last part of "Canon Rock",
so I'm rememorizing it again. And at last we then have one of my favs, Bach's "Tocatta and Fugue in D minor", I've learned the Tocatta, and I'm at the start of the Fugue.
What annoys me is that I several times learn maybe 4-5 bars of a song, then I just quit.
I have a bunch of songs, especially Final Fantasy, that I can play the 4-5 first bars.....
And I do the exact same thing on the guitar... Bad habbit ^^

You gotta stick to one thing and finish it even if it KILLS YOU!!!! lol i'm kidding but yea, it's just a matter of discipline! ^_^ just decide when you start something that you're GOING to finish it! and even set a day!
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
This is to Andrew and Jordan in particular. But feel free to comment.
Facts:
1,5 hours on lerning the notes + 2 houres practice

Just started practicing It isnt NEARLY as good as it should be, but that is the whole reason! To see if I got the potential to complete and learn this song I know that I hesetate, started learning and practicing yesterday. So you are right, at this point, I still must think before I move my hand, and my left hand is a bit confused
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
well that part only has to do with your muscle memory, just give it more practice, looks fine for just 2 hours of practice

You're right, muscle memory is the problem right now ^_^ so that's no problem.
From what I've seen you look alright ^_^ you've got to quiet up the left hand, focus on singing out the right hand melody so that it sounds like the RH has direction and pull towards the ends of the phrases. Your turn was alittle bit sloppy, so you gotta sharpen that baby up! I think you'll be able to sharpen it up ^_^
My verdict? Well to be hones the opening of the piece is very easy compared to the latter sections. BUT i can see that you're very determined to learn this, and there isn't really any negative health dangers here from learning this piece. So I think you'd learn ALOT of rhythmic lessons and voicing lessons from this piece. I say GO for it, but it won't be easy Thanks for the video!
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
Your verdict is understoud. And the tips also.
Yupp, the rest is harder, and Ill stop if I see that Im no where near how it should be. I am positive, at the seme time realistic, so we'll see what happens
Also I think it will be, as you mentions, a good way of lersnin to play "louder" with my right hand, and "piano" with my left. I dont master that yet. But, soon This is my third day on a piano, must say that once more, couse its quite hard still to controll the pressure, especially pp-ish... ff is easyer
Nothing in life is easy, but that wont stop my hehe
At least not yet

I agree with exactly what Andrew said. I really think you can learn the piece, but obviously, it's not going to be so easy.Admin Andrew wrote:From what I've seen you look alright ^_^ you've got to quiet up the left hand, focus on singing out the right hand melody so that it sounds like the RH has direction and pull towards the ends of the phrases. And you both are right =)
But I would never tryed if it was a fast peace. So fun to see what I can manage at this early stage =)
If it takes years before I can play it Really beautyfull, its okay
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
Just started on Maxims Exodus - And its really new to me, to use 4 fingers(righthandchords) with my right hand while playing arpeggios at the same time with my left hand - =) But its fun =)
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
The song/s that I'm currently learning is just Fur Elise and I want to learn in the future the MOONLIGHT SONATA 1st movement (pls. make a video on how to play moonlight sonata 1st movement) and Liszt Nocturne no. 3 (pls. make a video on how to play it)

Isnt it easyer to learn how to learn basic music yourselfe? And thn learn them?? It isnt that hard as you might think. =)
And there is a toturial made by Andrew on Fur Elise =) Search for it, think its lesson 31#

First I would advice is to start with pieces on your level because a harder piece can be discouraging.
( I think most of Liszt's piece is for advanced player because he was such a virtuoso.)
Andrew has a philosophy to teach you how to play the piano , not to teach you how to play certain songs.
There are many videos on youtube which shows you how to play songs.
Here is one for Moonlight Sonata
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12O_YLdVFQw part1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1foEJYDED3E part 2
And for the Liszt piece

Enjoy and if you have any questions on techniques or reading sheet music, etc. we are all here to try to answer them.

Re: What songs are you currently learning?
Anyone a fan of Chopin's Nocturnes? Chopin Nocturne in C-char minor (Op. Post.) is absolutely beautiful. Probably one of my favourite pieces ever, and my favourite Nocturne.

You're welcome It is all make sense you know, you give the greatest gift to people, not only drops of it.
Personally I don't like to learn a song only by watching how they play. I like to have a sheet music and create the music as I can. Maybe it is old-fashioned
Re: What songs are you currently learning?
The song I wanna learn is definely this one:(The guy is playing it on a slower tempo than the original.)

Re: What songs are you currently learning?
I've been looking into some DragonForce stuff, but I'm not really sure if I'm gonna do them on the guitar or keyboard.
But for the Through The Fire And Flames I think I'll use the guitar.
But who knows, maybe I'll learn it on both ^^
