Chords of the same note
I came across some sheet music where there was a whole notes on the B and right after it was a sixteenth note also on the B,and this in 4/4 time signature so it can't all fit into one meausure. I am not sure how to play it. I have not been able to find anything about it on the internet and it is frusturating me . Someone please help me.

Re: Chords of the same note
This is a bit confusing. You talk about chords of the same note in the title of your message. Chords are notes played at the same time, and then you say the you're supposed to play two B-s in a row. Then it can't be a chord, besided chord can't be two B-s unless they're an octave apart and includes some other notes.
Can you post a picture of the measure, maybe the measures before and after as well?

Re: Chords of the same note
I know exactly what you mean.. unfortunately I'm not sure why it happons either... Let me see if I can find an example.
Got one... If you go on this link and download the PDF.. you will see it at the start. There's a whole note- B flat, then another B flat but in a 8th note.. you only play it once though.. I've never been sure why things are written like this.
