Same here. Andrew, are you seeding?
Re: Download Lessons
Hi Andrew, What torrent software do you use and is it definately set to allow us to download from you because we can see you are seeding but nothing is happening. Is there any way you can check your preferences to make sure.
Re: Download Lessons
I've finished 99.9% of the download, but it won't let me finish because it says that Piece 4 Hash Check failed. I don't know what's up.. but all the lessons are downloaded except for the demo.wmv which is at 80% and lesson 1 which is at 99.9%. It keeps redownloading piece four because the hash check is failing.

Re: Download Lessons
I don't either. But it's okay. All the lessons work... and the first lessons works a bit. It just freezes when you press play. But if you skip forward.. everything plays fine. The DEMO.WMV file doesn't work though. I don't know what that is though..

Re: Download Lessons
I have decided to download 1 file at a time. It is taking about 6 to 8 hours but we are getting there. I don't know if this is a daft question Andy but, is ther any way you can offer these files on DVD and we pay you for them?

I guess We could do that, It takes me awhile to burn them though. So what do you think a good price would be?
Re: Download Lessons
It should be.. 5..... TRILLION DOLLARS. Jk.
$5-10 dollars + shipping would be good.

Re: Download Lessons
My price of $15 is based on that the lessons are normally free to download and this payment was only to save us the time of downloading because of the problems we are having. The payment being to cover the cost of a DVD and time to burn. It is allways difficult to put a price on something like this because of the risk of insulting Andy and his good work to help us all.

Yeah, I know and understand what you mean

But I made a response to soon. For all I know Andrew might think 15 is enough or he might think its to much/little

Re: Download Lessons
Well, $15 would probably not be enough since it would take me at least an hour of my time to burn the disc, label them, package them, and go wait in line and ship them out, plus my gas and supplies.
Plus I'm pretty busy as it is, so I think it'd have to be more than $15....I mean I don't mind helping people out, but I don't think I have enough time in my schedule to be running to the post office all the time....

My thoughts exactly. Its A lot more work to this thing than one might think

Its not a bad thing to get what things are worth, so Id say you shouldnt be modest now, and just say what you want to get for this kind of job, since you are the one letting your spare time go, and doing the job, you should get paid fairly for it. Thats why I brought it up in the first place, cause I thought it would be nice with some "backup"

Re: Download Lessons
I agree entirely, $15 is not enough when you add up all the stages to the final product ready for shipping. I said if we had the job of suggesting a price it would insult and all I can do is apologise for thatAdmin Andrew wrote:$15 would probably not be enough...

Re: Download Lessons
Yea, the torrent takes a while. Not enough seeders.. Took me about two weeks to download it all.

Re: Download Lessons
Well, I decided to calculate my hourly rate in real life that's 40/hour times the number of hours my lessons are [15.5 hours] you get $620 of what normal people would have to pay in lessons. Plus extra's like blank DVD's, time spent burning them, packaging, gas for the car, and all that fun stuff.
So yea.... I'd say the real value isn't really an option as I'm not really doing this to get rich, cause if I was I would have things set up a whole lot differently. At the same time, when I shoot a new lesson it's a one time thing, where as shipping out DVD's could take up my life if everyone ordered them. So I'm thinking It'd be more of a higher price just so that only the serious people would order it. Maybe $90 CAN Dollars. How does that sound? I'm not sure really. Any thoughts?

Re: Download Lessons
That sounds like a fair price. I think it's about 4 discs for all your lessons. If you want, I think you can get a company to burn and ship all your discs for you.

Re: Download Lessons
I agree, $90 is a fair price. I didn't realise it would take 4 DVD's, that will take a while to do for each order. I originally was only thinking it would be 1 DVD. Duh!
Re: Download Lessons
Lol. No. All the lessons are about 14 gigabytes total. A very big file.
