I bought a book called Rock 'n' Roll piano and their yusing lots of block chords in the right hand and hoping patterns in the left hand. This is now what I thought rock piano was. Like in this video:

I can't really tell you what rock style that is by listening to a piano version of it, sounds more like poprock to me if I have to guess.
