How to transfer music from keyboard to computer
I have a Yamaha YPT300, a midi cable, Windows 2000, and Musicsoft downloader. I want to transfer music from my keyboard to my computer. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Re: How to transfer music from keyboard to computer
On my old mainboard ( the card inside the computer ) I had a gamingport,
but thats an old standard now. Back then I connected my keyboard
through a midicable into the gamingport.
But today they usually use MIDI to USB, if you got it, you'll just buy a MIDIto USB cable.

You can also buy a cable: at one side the phones input that you connec on your keyboard and on the other side a mic plug that you connect on your comp. Then use Audacity. The sound is Mono but it's worth it.

I'm gonna buy this one:
http://www.roland.com/PRODUCTS/en/UM-2EX/index.html
Since I cant afford the ProKeys 88 right now, but I want to play with piano sounds ( my synthesizer cant make that sadly ).
At first I was thinking "i'm wasting money on a usb/midi",
but it'll come in handy when I get my ProKeys anyway.
Then I can connect 2 keyboards ^^

Re: How to transfer music from keyboard to computer
I'm bumping this one, why? Because next week ( in 5-6 days ) I'm gettin my UM-2EX so I can play with piano sound. The synth is ok, and fun, but I miss the sound of a piano.
I got this great VSTi, The Grand 2, and I cant wait till I get the midi-usb so I can play a "piano".
I'm so excited, this is better than christmas ( almost ).
