But guys, why not put in the work yourselfe, become good, and you wont need the shortcuts anymore because the path you are walking will then be so good to walk, that those creepy and scary sidepaths dosnt really seem so interesting to walk anymore?!!!! =)
I check youtube and I got tons of videos with cute penguins but no particular song...
So you advise that everyone needs to just be perfect in eartraining and do it for themselves? can u do that?
Nope, that wasnt really my advice I was thinking more inline of learning how to read sheetmusic, so they didnt have to rely on toturials on youtube Andrew plays the pinguinsong, but he got the sheets in a book =)

To read a book, you need to learn how to read, and if you want to walk, you ned to crawl first. You cant jump, if you dont got legs(unless you can jump on your hands)
Woow I did not know you are training to be a philosopher or a guru
Of course I understand that you are defending Andrew
I think it is a thousand times better what Andrew does in teaching than to just show how to play one song.
OH YEAH Big philosof, thats me alright haha
And yeah, I like what Andrew is doing. There are plenty of toturials if you want that, and there isnt any wrong in learning songs that way. It all depends on what you want, and what makes you happy. But, Andrew has chosen a path, and to start lots of toturials isnt really that giving I think for Andrew?! Then he doesnt really enlighten people. And it is a huge success.
Re: Ideas for new lessons
Oh! He got it in a book! I hope he could take a photo of it xD

Re: Ideas for new lessons
That note is called a Fermata, or also called a "Pause" all you do is you hold the note longer than the full value. You would just pause there until the second it starts to feel "Akward" then keep going

Re: Ideas for new lessons
You couldnt do afew "Coldplay" songs? Few of the people who do tut's for their songs are as good as your videos, and the "Mariocast" ones go all slow on my com.

Well, if you want tutorials, I guess you have come to the wrong place hehehe =)
But, think about it? Isnt it better to Learn, to get the Tools so you can learn it yourselfe??? =)
Then you can depend totally on yourselfe. That is Andrews motto: Feed a man a fish, and he will be full for a day, learn a man how to fish, he will be full the rest of his life! =) I like the way Andrew does his things. Lots of toturials is actually a waste of time but that is of course just my opinion =)

Your request was so nice the way you put it! I'm honored you like my way of doing things so much! It almost made me want to do that tutorial, but the fact is, if I did everyone's tutorials, I wouldn't ever have time to do anything else...plus you guys wouldn't learn anything valuable, it would sort of be like a teacher doing the math questions for his own students without explaining what he's doing.
Anyway I hope you're not to disapointed. My advice is, find the sheet music for the song you'd like, and then if you need to learn a technique on something your having trouble with, look for it in my videos, and if I haven't covered it, ask me to teach on it and i'll be glad to help!

Learn a man how to fish, and he'll fish till his fishing rod breaks, learn a man to built a fishing rod, and he'll fish forever. ^^
So how about you, Andrew, take a picture of the Penguin sheet, because it's impossible to find on the internet.

haha Good one V
Im actually leraning a "simualar" piece to The Penguin. Its Ecossaise by Beethoven. Its short, happy and fun
Re: Ideas for new lessons
Thats awesome Andrew Thanks
By the way I wanted to ask why people from Norway and Sweden are mixing up the words 'learn' and 'teach'? Is there a logical reason? Both guy from Norway used learn instead of teach and I have a Swedish friend who always does that...
Teacher teach and students learn. Those words are not really interchangable...
So Andrew's philosophy would sound correctly : "Feed a man a fish, and he will be full for a day, teach a man how to fish, he will be full the rest of his life!"
I hope that helps... and Im waiting for the answer why?

Re: Ideas for new lessons
We have one word, Læreren lærer ( learn ), Studenten lærer ( learn )...
I think it's because we have one word, lære, and it's similare to learn,
that's why, then we forgets teach...
It's like is and are ( atleast I've become better at it )...
Why use two words, one for one guy, one for two guys
THANK YOU, ANDREW!

Re: Ideas for new lessons
Yeah, common rule I think is:
IS - One
ARE - two+
He, she, it is
We, They are
I dont really care so much, Im not beeing graded And I am good enough. I always got a (C) "written english" and (B) Oral english, its good enough for me

Sure it doest matter in real life until people understand you... I always forget s in 3rd person oh well... and I tend to over conjugate things... like I did not learned ( believe it or not it is not correct )
For Victor Thanks for the explanation that makes a lot more sense now
Re: Ideas for new lessons
lol english is so simple just put s at the 3rd person xD in french we have specific rule for each verb -.-
