A nice site for leaning how to play famous songs
Hi People!
I Just found a website that has a lot of free video and tutorials for piano.
The site is about teaching how to play famous songs. I was learning yesterday how to play Apologyze by Onerepublic using one of their videos.
The sound quality wasn't really good by it was very helpfull.
The link is : www.purelessons.com

Wow !!
It's Really Good ..
But I donnow at first I was playing from tutorials on Youtube ..
Without Understanding How to play Piano ...
(Just Copying & Pasting the Notes)
So Maybe Reading Notes is better, I think ??! Any Ideas ...
Although there are some songs are hard to Read like : Power of Love
Which I found a tutorial for it in this Site

Much better to know how to fish, then not know how
Because then you can fish anything you want...

I think U should use sheets and if there are tutorials, you can use it as an adition. Or if you just cant find sheets its great to use tutorials. But You will find it easyer to learn songs with sheets when you get good at it. Then tutorials are slow!! =)
Re: A nice site for leaning how to play famous songs
Yup,
Learning How to fish is better than having a fish ... ( I heared this sentence when I was asking about how to play la cumparsita - My First Post )
I could tell that Tutorials is more easier but everytime you read a note you learn sth. new .. even you'll be faster & more Relaxed ...
Also it's more exciting to read Notes .. Not Just Copying & pasting sth. written ...
I donnow .. But this is my Opinion
But of course if you can't play sth. or couldn't find a sheet it will be Good to have a tutorial

To me it also gives a greater feeling off satisfaction when I've learned a song from a sheet.
I do think though, a tutorial video is a nice way to start with the piano.
Something like, Yeah, I know a song. Let's learn more. Or something like that

...Thanks for sharing this site...but I think you must know first how to read notes rather than watching tutorials....I think that this tutorials is just a guide...You can feel the real happiness when you learned the song by yourself!!!...Right?!!

the advantage of tutorials is they show correct hand and finger movements (Andrew's Fur Elise) which i would never have figured out on my own.

Yeah. Its a good guide. But, you would have figured it out if you had learned pianobasics. But you dont learn to find out on your own by only looking at tutorial after tutorial, unless you look for different fingering in different types of pieces active!
When you learn scales and generall theory it will be easy to find out the fingering and handmovement on your own

And your own fingering, not everyone does the same, smaller fingers, larger fingers, move ability, etc....
Most of the fingering will be just the same as every body elses, but there are some that aint...
