My goals for the piano
Just thought I'd give a short version of my goals with the piano.
I want to be able to read sheet music well, to be able to read any piece and play it, maybe not play it perfect but atleast be able to read and play it so I can practice it.
I also wan't to be able to hear a song and copy it on the piano in a reasonable amount of time without sheet music and also be able to just sit and play something and write it down.
My current first goal is to be able to play Für Elise, cause my sisters name is actually Elise, so it would be cool to be able to play that for her

Re: My goals for the piano
This seems like an excellent place for me to put my first post ever...heh... I have recently fallen in love with the piano. i've played guitar for 7 years now and been in a few bands and what not, but there's something about the piano that has just consumed me here's what i want to be able to do.
Read music at all. I cant read music really i'm teaching myself how to do it, but its a slow process i've found. With guitar i had tabs but piano if i want a ton of selection on what to play its sheet music
To be able to play anything. i'm sure this seems like a goal for everyone, but you know i've been taught my entire life that "cant never did anything" so i see no reason to try and learn everything
to teach my son how to play. I've found that music is one of the most important things we have in the world. Its the ultimate double edged sword its the most fun a person can have and by far the most irritating thing a person can do.
well thats all i can come up with at the moment i'll stop being so wordy

Re: My goals for the piano
Hello!
OK then I'm "back" I can't beleive it's been one year allready!
My situation before was that I was working offshore and I did not own a piano so I could only play for about 1 hour for 2 weeks every 1.5 months, and I had nothing to practice on when I got home..
Now I have started working at home again, and I bought a piano and took up piano lessons
I've been at 2 lessons, and I have learned to play "When the saints come walking in" and currently working on E.Griegs "Morgenstemning".
I'm still struggling a bit with reading shet music, but the playing itself is going rather good. So I guess I'll just have to practice as much as I can.
