Nocturne in E-flat Major
Couple things i'm wondering...
1) On bar 2 on the left hand where it shows the first flat sign on the triad C D A, would that flat on C be B, or B flat, because all b's in the piece are flat.
2) On bar 3, right hand, I have no idea what that symbol is! It kinda looks like ~, with a flat sign on top and says 4321.
Thank you! For some reason this piece seems really easy but is soooo difficult! I hate being a slow learner >_<

It would help to write the Name and composer but I think you are talking about Chopins Noctrne op 9 no 2???
Well, I started that aswell, but Im waiting a bit longer. Its a grade 7 piece. are you up for it??
Well, just try to listen(1) does it sound right? I think the c is a b. But now I cant remember how the sheets look like, but yeah. If its a Cb its a b.
Check out Andrews lesson(2) on thrills ++ He use that piece as an example! And covers your second question aswell

Re: Nocturne in E-flat Major
I ran into another problem, on bar 32, on the treble clef, there seems to be 4 added flat signs.
Sorry for the blurry picture, my camera sucks
What on earth does this mean?
BTW this song is coming along really well, I have the first page pretty well nailed down, definitely not as hard as Arabesque.

Re: Nocturne in E-flat Major
Why dont they just write an A instead of a Bflatflat?

Re: Nocturne in E-flat Major
Hmm, but B is already written as a flat in the time signature area, so wouldn't it be triple flat?

It got somthing to do with the pattern and building of the piece!!
I ask the same as you, it just stupid. But it surves a meaning!

Well, considering that.. That is true I guess. Tripple flat then. Then it is a: Ab/G#

Yup Its a bit confusing sometimes, I cant garantee you that I am right, but I think so. It is logical. So Im basing the logicality on the theory... You can record that bar, and send it to me, and I can compare to the original and listen if it is correct. Or you mught be able to hear it yourselfe. That is the true answer right there
Re: Nocturne in E-flat Major
It's always wise to listen to the original piece, so you have some clue about how it sounds.

Then this might be a great way to practice a littlebit on that hehe
Re: Nocturne in E-flat Major
Argh I hate when I get fingering wrong. This whole time i've been practicing the treble clef parts with 5 1 when its supposed to be 5 2

Re: Nocturne in E-flat Major
So I asked on Yahoo answers, and I got this response.
Coo.
No -- accidentals are not cumulative. Simply play a B double flat (enharmonically an A)
Enjoy
