Yamaha DGX-230 and Yamaha YPG-235
Hi, I'm a beginner and plan to buy 1 keyboard to learn by myself. I'm interested on yamaha DGX-230, somehow, I found out there is a similiar looking keyboard with DGX-230, which is yamaha YPG-235 . So, my question is
1) is both the same? or not?
2) is both of this model comes with heavy weighted keys?

Re: Yamaha DGX-230 and Yamaha YPG-235
Hi, I'm a beginner too and I'm also thinking about the Yamaha DGX-230. I went to look at one at my local music store.
The DGX-230 does not come with weighted keys, this much I know. I think it has (not sure) semi-weighted keys, at least they feel more resistant than the non-weighted plastic keys of the 61 keys toys.
There is an interresting forum about this keyboard on Amazon, you should check it out:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R3D3P6XB9TEMCA/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt/189-1929053-0474730?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B001D7JYDI&nodeID=#wasThisHelpful
Can be helpful also to check out the other customer reviews about the DGX-230.
Finally, what I would like to know about this keyboard, is how long it will last. I read that some Casio keyboards wear out in few years, keys start to vibrate and such.

No matter what I do recommend weighted keys!! Music without Dynamics, is not Music!!
