Circle's Performances
Here we go!
I had a lot of fun with this. Most of my time was spent with the "intro" and the "outtro". Lots of fun!
I recorded and made video of my second song tonight. Now that I've got the format down, I would hope that the rest of the video production process goes much smoother.
Enjoy!

Re: Circle's Performances
Nice job, hope there'll be many more
Sometimes I think of it, too, but don't want to waste a lot of money on a camera. Maybe some old one from ebay (not sure if I need hd...) and midi cable for sound... but then I should learn some interesting stuff as well not just short etudes or whatnot :p
So it's cool that you posted the video, I'd probably be nervous about it, haha

Thanks! That reminds me I still have to add a link in the latest video. I was up too late last night to get it in.

Thanks for all your help, Andrew - I wouldn't be where I am without you! I had a lot of fun putting the beginning and ending together. Glad you like it!

Thanks! I'm playing a Roland Fantom G8. A little fancy for learning to play piano, but I get to do fun stuff like make the beginning and ending!
Thank you all again for your nice comments. It just makes me feel, well, all bouncy!

Re: Circle's Performances
Last night I put some effort into recording a song with the camera placed above the piano. When I went back to edit the video, I discovered that a majority of the frame was of the top of my head. I'm sure everyone wants to see that.
So I tried again tonight. I couldn't help but laugh at the contraption I made to get a clean overhead shot like in Thomandy's videos.
Looks horrible, but it worked! 3 new videos on their way!
(ladder, clamps, books under the ladder feet, and even paper bags covering the fluorescent lights above - sweetness!)
Just call me "Circle of Macgyvers"
(My initial reason of posting this was for humor of course, but now I see that I might need to set this up again and I will most definitely need a visual reference of what I did so I can actually reproduce the results from tonight.)

Re: Circle's Performances
Hi Ill share my opinions as well
I think you play Very Well Good Job! Not much more to say but to keep doing what you do
But I have to say that Im not a big fan of the Intro etc. Not because the Intro is bad or anything, but because I feel the intro puts me off. It sets me in a wrong mood, I feel I have to wait to long, and the overall situation gets kind of ruined^^ But then again, if you upload cause you want feedback on your playing, or show the piece to anyone its of course Okay to have the structure as you do now. But If you want to entertain and get views/rates/and general comments on feedback, you would Loose a lot of those by doing like this!
So please dont take it the Wrong way Its just an opinion, cause your playing is great But in general when browsing youtube I skip to the next vid If I have to wait more than 6-7 sec, and also then I feel I have waited to long, and I know many others feel the same.
But it all depends, what the main purpose is for you to upload videos that is Cause the quality of the playing is worthy of a lot of hits/views etc
Keep it up

I won't, I promise!
Actually, I'm glad you said something. Those were exactly my thoughts when I first made it. It came out a little over 30 seconds, and I thought at the time "the piano song is barely that long!". But naturally, I put it in anyway, because I created it and already had it in my mind that this is how it is going to be.
So, I will take your good advice and significantly shorten the intro to just the song title. It just makes sense (and isn't so overwhelmingly obnoxious and out of place! )
So, yes, thank you for your advice. It means a lot!

Re: Circle's Performances
WOW! I loved the second piece! Really nice!!!
You dont by any chance want to pm me the sheet music to it???
Oh, and by the way... Thomas was right about the intro. The way you have it now is just perfect.
