I absolutely love the violin, it was actually the instrument I wanted to learn but I found piano more suited to me and has a wider range. The piano and violin also go amazingly well together. Do any of you guys also like the violin, and violin music? I love how it weeps and find it exceptional on somber pieces such as the following:

If that embed fails coz I've never done it before or something I'll give you a link, you ain't getting away! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLK5OWU2YGw

If you haven't heard this one before and even if you have, it'll move your soul, 100%. A truely beautiful piece. Smile

Hell Yeah! I have always wanted to learn the violin, but my cousin is already good at it so what better to learn than a great instrument for accompaniment. Very Happy

Thats great Andrew! I bet it'll be easier on you to! It isn't quite as strenuous on the body as playing piano is! When it comes to violin its all about emotion, pour your soul into it Andrew, you have a pure brilliant one so I'm looking forward to your future with it. ^^

I like the violin, too, especially if played by beautiful women Wink

The last one could sound good on piano, too. Anyone wants to try it?

I like the violin to, it's fretless, but practice will take care off that aslong as you arent totally tonedeaf ^_^

My sis is going to buy a violin ( you'll prolly understand why )....:

I'm still lurking behind the ukulele, but if a violin feels ok if I get to try when my sister buys, i'll prolly buy one myself.

I also enjoy violin. When I first heard a violin teacher play at school I fell in love with the instrument; at the time I'd already liked piano and played some at school too. So I started off loving both instruments.

What made me decide for piano and not violin were the hard times I had trying to coordinate my finger tips on the strings, it used to hurt a lot. But I still enjoy listening to it. Smile

Wow this thread is old, and my sister is not going to buy a violin, but as a matter of fact I am. It's kinda in order right now. Been doing alot of violin research. I was shocked when I figured one has to use rosin on the bow ^_^

I found BenChanViolin at youtube, this dude did a video with Andrew and that other dude I dont remember. Anyway, he has a bunch of good videos on http://chamberhymns.com/ about violin. I found Ben at youtube after I saw a trailer of this new BioShock up in the sky, thinking about the welcome to rapture music, Ben actually transcibed this little piece:
