How to play Piano by listening to the music?
Today I went to choose my very first Digital Piano and decided to get YAMAHA YDP141
I brought my friend alone with me who currently in Grade 8
She is so cool that able to play out the song that she never came across before I played the music to her in my phone.
Does Andrew has any video teaching this?
Thanks!

Re: How to play Piano by listening to the music?
Hey, playing by ear is actually why I play piano (no expert). It actually came quite naturally to me just about 3 years ago, it's pretty much using your mind.
Have a look at my thread on how I developed it:

Andrew has a video too, take a look:

I think it's worth trying to develop, it's quite fun being able to play something you just heard from earlier that day or while a go. It won't come straight away, but keep at it.

You should also check the this chapter Fundamentals of Piano Practice:
http://www.pianofundamentals.com/book/en/1.III.12
You might also want to read the parts about mental play in the book to get a better understanding of what it is.
