VictorCS's Performances Update July 2011, Guitar Improvs
I decided to make this now, since I'm soon gonna add some non-FF1 performances too, so my old thread on this forum is no longer updated, dont have any videos on youtube yet, but the main thing is to listen, it's music right? This lists what I'm working on, what I'm satisfied enough to make a recording of and stuff that I've set on standby. Atm I'm consentrating most of my time on the FF1 soundtrack, so I wont progress much on the other stuff before i'm done.
5.April: I recorded this improvisation a couple of months ago, actually in December. I'm sure this was supposed to enter the recycle bin, atleast not shown to the public, but I think it sounded kinda good ( it has its moments ), so why not. I was going through stuff on my desktop, and I find this piece of early improvising of myself, and yes, at the end i'm struggeling to get the piece to end properly, it never does. Time for you to listen, find the errors, and tell me how to make em better ( so I can improv my improvisation, because it's not to much improved from this ):
December Improv
My list of finished/practising Final Fantasy 1 songs ( mouse over to download available recordings ):
FF1 - Chaos Temple
FF1 - Coneria Castle ( Cornelia )
FF1 - Mayota's Cave ( My favorite from FF1, havent progressed since I destroyed my old keyboard )
FF1 - Prologue
FF1 - Town
FF1 - Underwater Temple
FF1 - Ship ( I hope i can make recording in 2 weeks )
Final Fantasy 7:
Tifa's Theme ( Just started )
Main Theme ( 25%, currently on standy because of my FF1 project )
Final Fantasy X:
To Zanarkand ( I really wanna upload this one, but I wanna do it when the time is right when I can handle dynamics/pedaling better )
Elfen Lied:
Lilium ( currently right before the second fast part, so it'll be a while before i'll do a rec of this )
Dimmu Borgir:
Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen ( piano intro )
( Figured the files need to be downloaded atleast 1 a month to stay active, but i'll make sure they'll stay active )
What annoys me that I still have problems recording 2 min + pieces, since I always do an error, hit a wrong key or something, and I just want it to be perfect, atleast keywise. And it's always on the end of an piece I do this, pretty annoying, since this does stop me in recording my composition "First Movement", as the name tells, there will be a second and third movement too. I'm atm working on the second. It's composed in A minor.
Updated 5. April
I also have to thank Andrew ( not our Andrew ) and Andy for having sequenced and arranged the FF1 midi's I got from vgmusic.com, that makes me able to play.

Well done I think you overall have quite good rhythm. The dynamics are workable, but other than that id say it was very good

Re: VictorCS's Performances Update July 2011, Guitar Improvs
A couple of weeks ago I watched Twin Peaks, the whole thing, 2 seasons + movie, and this might be the best 90's series ever. It's worth the look even if it's a "cult".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_peaks
Anyway, I noticed this piece they play'd in the background, so I decided to look it up. It was "Laura's Theme", beautifully playd on rhodes. After I was done with it, and still had season 2 to watch I learned the Twin Peaks theme aswell.
Here are two "cut" versions, meaning the first part in the twin peaks theme repeats twice at the sheetmusic, and Laura's theme repeats the same twice aswell. I used FruityLoops + midi, and used the Pianoteq v2.3 that lacks the realism of Pianoteq 3 that I really wanna spend some money on, the pedaling is feels just on/off compared to the 3rd where you got uberpedaling. The piano sound quality isnt what it is in the 3rd.
I'm still not satisfied with my recordings, i'll give it 10 more years ^_^

Epic way to make a simple and beautiful piece:

Finally a new record, have had this piece down since forever, just havent recorded it. This piece is/was the start of Dimmu Borgir's Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen, but without the others knowing the keyboardist stole this part from another band. They no longer uses it, and they keyboardist got fired. But it's still a great piece:

Far from a perfect performance, I havent had the chance to play much piano this month or practice this one. I've been watching Stargate SG1 and busy doing other stuff. I also catched a cold, but my body dealt with it within 2 days suprisingly. Power sleep ftw ^_^

Re: VictorCS's Performances Update July 2011, Guitar Improvs
I thought I should just do a recording for fun of the guitar, and the fact that I havent recorded anything in a very long time. It's Breeze from Final Fantasy 8, you'll hear it when you go to a little small place at the Balamb Garden. I think it's actually the place where they have a stage where they performed music.
The pickups on the guitar are horrible, and the wire i'm using is not shielded. Only thing that's better than good is my Asus Essence STX soundcard, but that doesnt help when the rest of the chain fails.
Here it is ^_^
Watch out for the stupid commercial, just press the link under it:

Here's a little composition I made the day before xmas, just a short little piece. And some footage of the winter over here shot with my new Canon 550D/T2i ^_^
Have another longer composition ready, but cant upload more than 1 HD video a week, so I'll upload it next week...

Another composition I made yesterday ( FruityLoops with FM8 VSTi ). Tried to make it chill and spaceish, why I went synth, quite inspired by Mass Effect. Tried to match it with a new animation I made:

Re: VictorCS's Performances Update July 2011, Guitar Improvs
For some reason this forum wont accept the embedded vimeo videos, so i'll stick with links for now, probably gonna setup a youtube account.
Anyway, here's a new composition, tried to get that jazzy feel they use in apartment/hotel/spa commercials. I'm not sure, but I guess i'm not finished with it yet. It was just going to be a chill background music for my test footage, but I enjoyed it so much I kept adding stuff, so it doesnt really have an end in the video.

I have atleasts one more video showing of some snow, i'm going to upload and compose a spooky tune for it.

Nice work Victor
Vimeo is just so many times better than youtube - too much commersials on the videos there, and lower quality.
Your Canon seems to do pretty well, so is your playing
Good luck with your continuesly work on your playing and filming/photos

Re: VictorCS's Performances Update July 2011, Guitar Improvs
For some reason I have a bunch of compositions almost ready, but not ready. Shame on me. Anyway, as I was working on one of my newest compositions, I had to figure out a way to get my guitar connected with FL Studio. After a little googling I figured it out.
This isnt from my composition, it's some improvisation stuff, I wanted to try mix 2-3 guitar tracks. The amp/effect I use is Hardcore, I accidentlially came across this inside FL Studio. Quite good actually, and easy to use.
