Re: Playing 2 Things at Once
Play real slow, and then build up speed, and you'll see that it'll work out after a while, and when you get the hang of it, it'll become easier to play with two hands.

Re: Playing 2 Things at Once
Hi!
Well. As a beginner there is usually 3 steps you have to go through when you learn a new piece:
1: memorize the right hand
2: memorize the left hand
3: memorize both hands
This basically means that, even though you can play right hand and left hand separate, this does NOT mean that you automatically can play them together!!! You have to memorize that as well, and it might take just as long to memorize this that it did to memorize the right and left hand separate!!! So Slow practice, go SO slow that you can do it CORRECT every single time! Random stuff isnt supposed to be there, then you out of control and you cant expect that you will get it either.
Its better to practice 15min every day, than 1 hour one or two times a week(as a general rule).
But if you can practice 1 hour ect in the beginning that should be Very good, also 15min, 30min ect is good. Also if you manage to do 2-3 15or30min sessions a day, with pause in between, thats even better

Another question here. How long does it take on average for someone to be able to sight read music fairly quick? Because when playing trombone i sightread fairly quick, only problem for me is the harder rhythms but getting notes is easy. Is this the case for piano or is piano much more difficult to sight read for a good pianist?
