Piano Duett's Empty Piano Duett's

Post by VictorCS Thu Apr 10, 2008 12:24 am

I just think we should have a thread about duett's.... Ofcourse, not everybody have an opportunity to play with another human being....
But we all know that Andrew have this opportunity because he's together with a girl who plays to.

Would be great if everybody could list their favorite duett.

Mine is the duett between Victor and Emily from the movie Corpse Bride:

I've been playing piano for about 9 years, on and off, since I was 8 years of age. To improve I practice quite a lot actually, a few hours a day. Although I also go to a conservatory.

the two main things that help develop improvisation i'd say is getting to know how harmony works, that way you can build your chords ontop of the melody your improvising. SO learning harmony is a MUST Smile

the second isn't as black and white, it helps to try huming melodies that come from your head, or you could mess around with different melodies at the piano. Overall you just want to mess around and "practise" improvising!

keep in mind, I'm not amazing at improvisation so I might be leaving something out, but if i was going to practise my improv skills it would be by doing what I just said ^_^
