My time I've been playing
Sorry, I thought I've been playing for 2 years, but actually haven't. I went to a music store the other day to buy a book on harmony, they didn't have a single one! All they had were beginners books like my piano teacher gives me and song books! So I saw that they had a bunch of brand new digital pianos in there. So I tried some out. The guy working there who was helping us look at it, said I was really good. When I told him I had been playing for like 6 months he was Amazed . And said that I was so natural for such a short experience of playing. He was awesome player and had been playing for 6 years. So actually I hadn't touched a piano until I got a keyboard last Christmas. So yeah, it's like one year. Don't know if I'm special or not. But my dad said the way my fingers know automatically where to go, that it was kind of creepy. LOL Speaking of which, the digital piano we looked at was a Yamaha CLP, I believe. It had weighted keys with touch, resonance, 12 voicings, and sounded almost exact to a grand piano. Also came with pedals of a grand that were very comfortable. It was only $1500.00!!

Nice compliment to get I got myself a Yamaha CLP 240 in April, and I love it It was closer to 3000$ though, but the CLP-Series are pretty good. If you can get one, you should
I have also played for one year, soon I guess we have something in common then
Re: My time I've been playing
Can I ask you a question, The piano I looked at had like 12 sound buttons but are there sub sounds for those buttons?
Also, I believe that piano had the best touch in key weight I've ever felt!

On my Piano, which is a CLP 240. There are 14 to begin with.
1: There is a button that changes the sounds slightly (+14)
2: You can mix every single one with another (+14)
3: After a mix, you can use the same button to change the sound some more! (+14)
= 56 different sounds, some changes more than other.
But I almost Never use them actually, I thought I was gona miss those 100 I had on my keyboard, but I really dont
Even 14 is more than I need!! But I got a Grand-Sound that I havent recorded with yet! Im not sure how that will sound, I have stayed safe and only recorded with my Regular piano sound
Re: My time I've been playing
My digital piano is a yamaha dgx 620. it has around 600 sounds to use. It's quite fun to play around with. the grand piano sound is epic

And a Yamaha dgx 620 is cheap also!(ca 1000$) So if the sound of the Piano is fair, then that might be a good deal for you kentaku if you are interested in lots of keyboardsounds
Re: My time I've been playing
Oh not really, I would rather have less sounds and more realistic piano sound. I just like the harpsichord and guitar and stuff I was just curious.

Okay, I see Yeah, I feel the same. If you are serious about piano, you dont need and probably wont be very interested in playing around with all these toysounds. I think Andrew mentions this in a lesson actually, not sure though.
I like the strings, since piano and strings sounds very nice!
Been forever since I used it though hehe
And you probably Like Bach?? Then the Harpsichord really is a nice feature!
Re: My time I've been playing
Well I like most of Bach, some organ music is strange, so yeah I like the harpsichord. Then again it has church organ on it so you can play Bach's organ music as well Piano and strings combo is awesome. Right now I'm learning the Turkish march by Mozart, it was probably originaly on a harpsichord just because of how fast it is. I just think it fits a harpsichord well. Does it have a clavichord? Those sound nice too. The only person out of many that I've asked that knows even what a clavichord is my piano teacher, though she dosen't know what a harpsichord is!! LOL It be nice to have a real harpsi or clavi, I don't know. I just love instruments with double keyboards.

Yeah. Bach is cool. I want to learn a real piece from him someday
So you are learning Turksih March Thats a great piece. I play it aswell, but it is not polished at the moment!
And yeah, my piano got Clavichord aswell It would be fun to try a real Harpsichord or play at a church
