Hi from Norway
Hi everyone.
My name's Elisabeth, I'm 17 and live in Norway.
I've been playing piano now for three days:) Ever since I was little and saw how my friends were learning to play different instruments I decided that the piano was for me. Unfortunately though, I couldn't play because we simply couldn't fit a piano into our house. As the years went by I tried to forget my wish to learn to play the piano, but that was a little hard as the piano is something you hear in music almost every day. It kind of became a little sad to hear piano music because I thought about how this beautiful instrument wasn't for me, like a door that would always be locked.
However, this late fall we got an extra room, and my old dream hit me again with full force and after about three weeks of looking I bought my very own piano! That was on Friday, and now I'm soo happy and excited and following Andrews lessons on YouTube. I'm very happy to be here and I'm looking forward to learning from you all and be a part of the music community:)

Re: Hi from Norway
It seems Andrew is a norway magnet, and he's one of the best out there ^_^
What kind of piano did you get? I always wanted a piano myself, but as my family wasnt into music I was stuck with keyboards untill a few weeks ago when I got my first digital piano, as I dont have room for a real one and I'm still living at home. But todays digital piano's are pretty close to the real deal.
Anyway, here we teach how to fish, and that's the best way to learn the piano. Learning how to read sheets and understand music theory.
Good luck on your piano journey...

Re: Hi from Norway
Thanks VictorCS and Christian for the welcomes!
It's an upright Sangler & Sohne, about 15 years old. That's about everything I know about it, to be honest.
I'm also living at home and my family is very little into music, so we have a couple of things in common:) I'm pretty sure they'll get jelous though when they hear me playing songs after a while, wohoo!
This seems like a very nice place, and I think the philosophy with the fish makes a great deal of sense:) And it's so amusing to see all these norwegians here!

FISH ALWAYS MAKE SENSE! NEVER FORGET IT YOUNG PADAWAN!
Great speech:
When the world is at need. When the hunger strikes... When the people of the earth are at need and dont understand what's going on... one shall save them all: the fishes.

Re: Hi from Norway
Nice to meet you pianohama and Thomandy:)
I'll promise to remember it:) I'll write it on a note and stick it on the wall over my piano, like an encouragement. I have this notice board full with words of wisdom hanging there. The fish-philosophy deserves a place on it now
