Advice please

I have been watching shawncheekeasy on utube........do you think this is a good way to learn to play the piano?

What he does he does really well, but there is one problem, you cant learn what you want, you can only learn what he teaches you.

Shawn gives you a fish, he gives you 1 kind of fish. And when he doesnt fish anymore,
or you're tired of his fish, you wont get any. If you instead learn how to read a sheet,
you'll be able to fish whatever fish you want whenever you want.

I actually think his videos are very good, but it doesnt give you alot of options.
If you can read a sheet, you can play anything.
