Learning tools for beginners - the notes, chords and eartraining

Take a slow pace. Start by knowing how the piano keys are arranged, what a scale is and begin with the simple C Major scale, doing some fingering to get familiar with it.

You are very welcome. I agree with the slow pace.... take just one step and slowly go further... noone said it is easy to learn the piano and I am a beginner too but it is definitely worth it!!
Please DONT GIVE UP on it... everyone is here to help... so ask and ask no matter how many times...
Your fingers needs warming up all the time. Every time I sit down I feel like I never played before I start with scales... and when I feel better I start to play a little piece...
Practice makes everything easier so sit down and play around... you dont need to follow a method... just get to know the piano very well...

Dont worry... your English will improve too if you use it.

I bought my keyboard two weeks ago never touched one before.
I can pick out most melodies very easily with my right hand after listening to them but,when it comes to using the left hand I am lost!
I hope to improve by using this brill forum.

It will come very fast Find some easy songs that force you to use both hands. But dont expect to play them up to speed at once. That I think is the most common error. Many give up cause they can play it at once even though its easy.

Slowpractice is a keyword!! Even though it takes like forever. As long as each not is placed correct hance to eachther, the tempo you start with is no issue. The speed will automaticly come. If you push it it will take you alot longer!
And that goes for you and for the most advenced pianist

I think he was refering to play a melody after he has listened to it, like playing by ear.
Me too picks up melodies quickly with my right hand, but not with left.

Its because the right is easier to "find", and you'll almost need to have perfect pitch to sort out the chords,
but still, this is something you can practice and get better at,
and I think this is almost as important as practicing scales.

Playing by ear is a nice feature.

wow thanks a ton maggie this is gonna help me so much mostly in my reading cuz i suck at it i already bookmarked it in my browser so yeah thank you so much and im adding another site with very nice interactive flashcards it helps alot mostly with the notes and the intervals cards wich are the ones i practice the most heres the page

Thanks for a new great site. Those flashcards are fun to play with.
I am happy you found tons of help ... and remember everything takes a lot of practice again and again... I am about to get back practicing sightreading and scales.
