Hey Guys :)
Hey I'm Josh Furmanczyk, I'm Andrew's brother. I gotta say I'm proud of him for all he's accomplished over the years Props to him for that. I started piano a few months after my brother did, we had the same teachers up until Nil. I ended up quitting after grade 5 piano. I had entered the rebellious state in my life, grew my hair out, and starting playing six string lead guitar. I played in two bands. "The Danks" was my first band, was a punk rock type of music and the next pretty much fell through over a summer, although it was fun, it was more of a Metal genre. Once that summer had ended i had gotten a job cooking for a Canadian restaurant called "Moxies" , after this i had pretty much given up on music, which now I'm deeply regretting. Currently I'm 19 and Live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I moved down here after i graduated from highschool and been working ever since. The accomplishments and how much you guys appreciate everything he has done on here and youtube, has inspired me to pick up my guitar again, and have Andrew teach me piano. Thanks bro
Josh

Re: Hey Guys :)
Hey Josh, I'm playing guitar myself, and a keyboard ofcourse, that's why I'm here
I doubt there should be any problem for you to start again, you got alot of experience from both instruments, and that from early in your life.
I have always playd some piano/keyboard from the age of about 7, but nothing special, just some easy songs.
I didnt actually start seriously before I turned 19.
But I dont see any problem with that, because it's not hard at all, you'll just have to hit the keys/strings at the same time, I actually think guitar is easier...
....back to topic, do you look like your brother? I want picture

Re: Hey Guys :)
Hi Josh
Nice to see you around. You definitely should not stop playing music and besides the guitar you could easily refresh your memories about the piano.. Oh man grade 5 that is excellent... dont let those years to be wasted... you still have a lot of time though for mastering both instruments and maybe learn a new one
My brother is a cook, wish I could convince him to play on something... but he rather listens to some metalish rock kind of music and thats it.
You guys are lucky your parent started you on a great musical path ( I bet you guys have lots of fun when you get together for the holidays )
We had Angela here, and you also joined... the whole family is here thats great

Re: Hey Guys :)
You guys/girl should start a band, Josh could play guitar, Andrew could play
piano and Angela could sing......
"The Furmanczyk Brothers: With Angela"
That would've been aWeZome! You could do some classical metal like
Nightwish and Within Temptation... I would've bought the cd.

Re: Hey Guys :)
Wow! that was a warm welcome
Yes, I am proud of my brother! I'm actually happy he joined the forum, it's always fun talking with him!
You're right, I totally think he should pick up music again. He was actually amazing at it, he had great improv skills AND after liek 5 years, he could sit down and still play a piece he used to know after not even touching a piano for years!
He's definitely got musical skill and talent!
Since I'm not sure if he knows how to post a picture up here, I'll post up a picture of the both of us last Christmas '07
Hopefully he doesn't mind my selection!

Yup, it's true, for a while we didn't like each other, I was a nerd, and josh was all skater etc So we had our differences, but it's all good now ^_^ Now we're really close and I'm always appreciative for every moment we get to hang out together.
