My Goal That I Never Thought I am Achieving
Since very young or kid i will say
I want to learn Piano so badly but my environment doesn't allows.
I believe this happens to most of the people.
Now I am 21, Student.
At the beginning I plan to get a keyboard at MYR300 which around (USD100)
But there are people giving me comments that I should get a better one if I am really into it, I raised by budget twice which from 300 to 1,6k and now I am gonna get YAMAHA YDP 141 which costs 3.3k! (USD1,000)
I will use up all my savings including the fees that I originally planned to pay for the Music Lessons.
One of the reason that I did that crazy budgeting is due to Andrew
I accidentally found the videos of Andrew which it inspires me and I know I'm gonna achieve this time.
I believe that Andrew could help me in achieving my dream if I work hard on it.
Many people including my friends who play piano,
It sounds impossible to them to learn and play piano without a teacher!
They all look at me are like... this fellow is crazy something like that.
There are people who discourage me from learning piano too.
But I will prove it by action in my 3 months holiday.
Bless me!
Thanks!

Re: My Goal That I Never Thought I am Achieving
There is nothing wrong with learning over the internet . Sure, a teacher can look at you, and tell you what you do wrong, and what you need to improve. But you dont need one, not if you're not planning to be one of the best pianists in the world. But they already got 10-15 years more experience than you, and will always be better.
That's the downside about learning when "older". But you can still get very good, and play music like a pro. It just takes practice. When doing it yourself, you need to have motivation. Look up theory and read for yourself. Aslong as you follow Andrew's advices you should be playing in no time, but keep in mind you'll need to spend alot of time in front of the piano.
An hour a day is a good starting point ( even 15-30 minutes is better than nothing ). No need to do 4 hours a day, but ofcourse that'll give you 4x more experience ^_^
Like alot of us young students or whatever, we dont have alot of cash, but thanks to the internet we have a huge archive of information we can use freely. his way we can afford one half, in this case a piano. The other half we get from the internet, by people who wanna teach us for free. And there are those that dont have any teachers in their area.

@VictorCS
Yeah.. but my friend who learn piano since 8 couldn't accept that learning without a physical teacher.
I will be getting my Piano next month
So what I currently doing is to watch the MUSIC THEORY vids
I think for the beginning of 2 months I could have spend 4 hours a day on it as I will be having holiday. Hopefully I could improve faster during that period.
I really appreciate those who contributed over the internet.

Re: My Goal That I Never Thought I am Achieving
Well, it's better to spend one hour with effective practice than 4 hours with ineffective practice. What I'm trying to say is that you need to plan your piano practice sessions well if you want to practice effectively. If you lose focus while practicing you can always take a short break and come back to the practicing later. Don't waste time on doing boring unmusical stuff like playing Hanon or Czerny exercises (I don't know if you have heard about these exercises yet). Anyways, I recommend that you read the Fundamentals of Piano Practice (hmm, ,maybe I recommended it to you before):

Re: My Goal That I Never Thought I am Achieving
Yeah u got the point
that is one of the thing that I am afraid.
I afraid that I have the time to practice but I actually got the wrong direction and it produce poor outcome.
I have not get into the Piano lesson by Andrew
Is that complete? because I am still in the Theory.
Thanks. I will get that.
