Your idea was already taken.... :(
So I basically playd on my guitar today, and came up with a nice riff ( a set of notes )....
Anyway, after a while I started to wonder.....

So how similare can we let it be? Because composing is pretty much about be inspired by someone else, and make something yourself...
I'm a big fan of Buckethead, but didnt think of him while playing... And even if I take a bar from another song it will sound different,
since it's just a buildingblock of a song. Most blues songs use similare riffs usually... But they sound different...
I need some spanish inspiration for my next melody, because it started out spanish ( that was not intended... )

Right now I use my keyboard, and write down the keys in FruityLoops.. I need that midi - usb thing now

Well you're one note different, so I say go ahead and use it. i mean you're not planing on using the rest of their song right? If it's just this tiny portion it shouldn't be a big deal
it's impossible to compose anything these days that someone somewhere hasn't done already.
Composing is sort of like writing a book. We use words that already exsist but what makes the book different is the way we group the words together.

Yup, I have been thinking tha same. We all use the same scales and rules. There arnt really that many (88) different tones, if you think about it. I am sure there has been written songs that are really simular without it beeing plagiarism. So just take it as a compliment, that you din somthing a great?" composer did before you

It's very easy that music subconciously stick in your mind and shows up when you compose ;D
