4 Four Chord Song
This is so true:
I know this is a stupid question, but how do you play these chords with both hands? Lets say you have a song with C D and F, how do you make these into two hands? Do I play the same with both hands, octaving them. Or do you maybe play an inverted chord in the second hand? I've always wanted to play song just by knowing a few chords, but I havent been able to reak the mysteri, probably very easy, but I'm lost

Re: 4 Four Chord Song
Wow that is pretty interesting, but I too don't really have the answer. I only know how to play one of those songs which was don't stop believeing, but all that is, is just octaves on the left, and on the right it switches between 2 notes and the root of one of those notes (like b and e at the same time, then the lower b by itself, and repeat)
Pretty weird, in the beginning when he's giving examples it looks like he's playing one note with one hand and the other 2 with the other hand, but I really have no idea because that would sound rather plain.

Re: 4 Four Chord Song
Those guys make a great work of showing us how popular songs resemble each other pretty much. Once there was a musician in my country (Iceland) who made this statement:
All songs are originally the same song. When asked what he meant he explained that there is only a fix number of notes and they can only be assembled to make a melody of notes and chords in a limited number of ways.
Nevertheless, what seperates a classical piece or a song from the ones that are forgotten after getting played for af few weeks or months, is what seperates an artist from the amateur. Otherwise you could make a computer program for generating musical works of art.

There are some experiments with computer generated music and it doesn't sound too bad:

Re: 4 Four Chord Song
If you study music theory, you'll find those four chords are absolutely foundational to musical construction. That they work so consistently is no accident, nor the by-product of limited tastes. Of course, there could definitely be a lot more creativity shown in handling these foundational chords... there are ways to tweak them to be more interesting.

I love these guys! Thankyou

That's some sheet music for the introduction - except Benny's playing octaves in the left hand. The rest of the time it's pretty random... at some points he's holding a bass note with the little finger of his left and making crazy rhythms with the octave above the bass note and repeated chords in the right (check his hands at the double time section).
... I think. I'm not really an expert with this sort of stuff
