Englishman, in Scotland, just starting keys, for psychedelic organ!!
Hi all,
I've been wanting to learn keyboards for a while, to start getting into Hammond (and other) psychedelic organ sounds of The Doors Ray Charles or more recently The Charlatans Many of my friends are musicians of long-standing and much talent and I'd like to jam with them but they have many of the bases covered so well I've been put off. But I don't know many keyboardists, so that'd be something new to the mix. But where to start?
A few clicks and I find Andrew's clips on YouTube. That's it - I'm taking the plunge. If I learn piano, scales, sheet music, etc., I can develop my own organist sound.
An acoustic piano is not going to happen for so many reasons so I'm getting a Yammy NP30. It's portable (important), can play outside (important), has sufficient piano sounds for me, has some basic organ sounds for practise, and can MIDI into fuller Hammond (and other) sounds.
Well, that's it for now, be seeing you guys round the forums.
