Your favorite composer?
Your favorite composers?
You could say why you like them aswell
and if your favorite isn't on the list, feel free to write them in as a reply.
You can make more then one choice if you cant decide between two.

I know
It only lets you fit 10 in
I did have Haydn but I replaced him for Rachmaninoff

Re: Your favorite composers?
Hey all. I have a piece I want you all to listen to
I wanna know what you think about it.
It's called Album Leaf by Scriabin
I simply adore this one
Ive just started to learn to play it, it will be a very slow process I think but I will enjoy it. Every time i play the first two bars clean I get "that feeling" :p
Cheers

Re: Your favorite composers?
I love ALL of them..
But I have really never listened to Brahms nor Debussy, so they are atm a couple of undiscovered diamonds for me, perhaps!
Chopin - 1
Beethoven - 2
Grieg - 3
Schubert - 4
Liszt - 5
even though 3,4 & 5 could all have been on 3rd place!
and then the rest, like Rach, Scriabin and Mozart is placed on 4th place

Re: Your favorite composers?
I'm not the biggest Debussy fan, I like his Reverie very much though.
Grieg is a total new one on me, ill look up some of his music some time

Re: Your favorite composers?
I'm into jazz and ragtime, so my list doesn't contain any of these composers. Anyways here are my top 6 in no order.
1. Zez Confrey
2. Jelly Roll Morton
3. Eubie Blake
4. Thomas "Fats" Waller
5. James P. Johnson
6. Billy Mayerl
Can't really decide on my favorite though. If anybody's never heard of these people, here is a video of Jelly Roll Morton's Fingerbreaker:
Here is a performance of Billy Mayerl's "Loose Elbows" by Martin Spitznagel. This guy is crazy good.
