Well done on the first video performance! Very Happy

The excitement of posting pieces on You Tube never goes away. Unfortunately, neither does the feeling of being a little exposed... Laughing

We can't wait to hear more! Very Happy

ohhh man, now we're delving into a world I know very little about. Laughing

Unfortunately I can't go and see what format I up load my videos to you tube because my computer is on its last legs, and when I click on the program I normally use (and most programs but internet, thankfully), my pc just simply barfs. But, I was just using the video software that came with my PC many moons ago. It wasn't the best software, but it did what was needed. Smile

I had been using you tube's recommended settings because the very first time I tried to upload, the sound and the video were off by a fraction of a second and it was driving me nuts. So, when in doubt, search you tube's help for their recommended settings.

The last video (3 Kings) was a little different because, not only did I use only still pictures, I also used a different software program on another computer. My first try of rendering the highest resolution video I could make resulted in a 1.5 gig file for a 2.5 minute movie! affraid

So, basically I am a prime example of technological buffoonery at its best! Razz

You also have the additional difficulty since you have an upright piano, so capturing the right sound is not an easy task. Acoustic pianos sound great live, but recording the sound on a camcorder mic doesn't do the performance justice. I have a keyboard, so I can record directly into it, and when editing the video can eliminate the sound from the camcorder and only use the keyboard recording.

So, just experiment with what you have, or hopefully there are others here that can offer some better advice. Or, just keep what you have, because it's really ok, and in line with many other performances I've seen on you tube.

Good luck! Very Happy

Good performance. Looks like you've nearly memorized it, which helps a lot when trying to play it fluently.

The quality of your video was better than many other YouTube videos. I'm using Windows Movie Maker for creating my videos. I've created a webpage how to use it:

http://www.frank-buss.de/music/recording.html

Pinnacle VideoSpin is nice, too.

The webpage contains additional information how to record the audio from e-pianos, but you can use it for real pianos, too. Just plug a good mic and preamp into your computer, because most integrated mics in the video cameras are not good (too noisy, low bandwith, audio compressor) and microphone amplifiers in the sound cards are noisy, too. Better video cameras allows to plug in external mics, which can work.
