Help I'm always nervous
When ever I play in front of people or a camera I get nervous and my stupid hand start trembling!
I hate it it ruins everything. I can do a song perfect by myself but when I record it on my camera for the internet I shake, my reflexes are bad, I play wrong notes, and my muscle memory is slower. Its not an audience. If I even play in front of one person I know, I shake and get tense. Then I hate myself afterward.
How do I overcome this? I'm a very shy person so I wonder if it's got something to do with that...

Re: Help I'm always nervous
Just do more of it. I've gotten better playing in front of family and the camera the more I have done it.
Even if you're not really performing for them, but practicing with someone in the room even if they're not paying attention. (my wife checks her email while I practice sometimes, but every little bit has helped)
So, if it's something you want to improve on, go out of your comfort zone to eventually make it part of your comfort zone, if that makes sense.

Re: Help I'm always nervous
If I play for performance I always screw up, if I play for practice I usually dont do ( that's why i dont like to play on command ). I think that has to do with that I dont wanna screw up when I perform, but it's not as important when I practice. I've also noticed this happens when I think "dont play the wrong keys".
The body is always "scared" of new situations even if you dont want it to be, lulz, the body and brain usually do what you dont want they to do when you need they to do it the most.
The body will adjust, or the way you handle the situation will change. I saw this experiment on tv, they meassured puls etc. before, while and after an actor performed his show. And his heart pumped alot of blood during the most complex part of the acting. The body wants you to escape ( old instinct ), but you dont want it to, and this creates a mess untill you've learned to cope with it.
Some say that this helps them, but I cant see how, nervousity has never helped me.
