NO PIANO!!
Hey! I don't have a keyboard/piano and I'm am EXTREMELY beginner, I've watched to number 12 of Andrew's video's on youtube. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to practice without actually using a piano untill I get one? I've just been practicing by just using my fingers and playing an imaginary piano LOL:P. Any ideas?

Re: NO PIANO!!
Hmm, good question.
I myself don't have access to one either. You might try a virtual piano, like the one found here.
Virtual Pianohttp://www.cmagics.com/beta/piano/
Additionally you might consider downloading a program, something akin to say, YGS virtual piano. Google it.
Beyond this I really don't know. Its kind of like getting good at cross country, sure you can use the cross country setting on the treadmill, but inevitably you will have to run sometime.

Re: NO PIANO!!
Just glad to help. I'm in the same boat. Learning on a Virtual Piano is a little bit better then learning on paper. I would much rather have at least a keyboard. (Would really like to get hand placement down.)
Anyway, good luck.

Re: NO PIANO!!
there is some stuff you can do guys here it is
Finger exercises! You know that thing people do when they're board with their fingers? they roll them across the desk? Taping 5 4 3 2 1 very fast ina rhythmic evenness? That can help your fingers a lot, but also practise going 1 2 3 4 5. Then you can practise on the desk going 1,2,1,2,1,2 then 1,3,1,3,1,3 1,4,1,4,1,4 1,5,1,5,1,5,1,5 then 2,3,2,3,2 and so on in different combinations. This can help A LOT later on, one thing to keep in mind is to keep a relaxed, rounded yet firm hand with nice curved fingers.
CLAPPING! is next, you could do clapping of rhythms and beats so that you improve your rhythm. Try downloading sheet music from your songs, and then count out loud and clap along.
Learn music theory! memorize your notes, start learning terms and other things that will give you a head start when you finally get your first keyboard to practise on.
Even after you get a keyboard all this is necessary anyway, so you might as well get started now

Re: NO PIANO!!
Wow, I didn't even think of those. Thank you Andrew, I will have to start with Music Theory and finger excercises.
Thanks for the heads up!
