What's your Beethoven favorite?
I'll have to say that Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major, Op. 73 - 2nd Movement is my favorite:

Re: What's your Beethoven favorite?
The sadness of Moonlight Sonata Adagio Sostenuto (1st movement) is just unreal. It's most likely my favorite.
Best way to play: tune 12, one octave lower.

Re: What's your Beethoven favorite?
Hmmm as I was thinking I could not entirely decide my favoritest but here is those I really like:
Sonata Pathetique - 2nd Movement
Fifth symmphony
Moonlight Sonata 1 movement of course
Unfortunately I think the Für Elise is played way too much and for me kind of loses its charm.

Ah! The TEMPEST sonata 3rd movement huh? LOVE that one too! Kempff's performance really does it for me! Beethoven Beethoven Beethoven! I don't know WHERE to start! Symphony no.7 I like very much (FYI: I would recommend the performance with Karajan conducting.), Appassionata of course! I can still play it apparently. Then there is the op.78 sonata. It's short but very beautiful (and surprisingly difficult too!), and there's the "Rage over a Lost Penny" which is a REALLY fun piece, and it isn't crazy long either. Oh, and there are the Variations in c minor.

yes it's really nice listening to it with you! When I was in vancouver, there would be people at Mr Parker's playing it, and it would remind me of you.

In this order, currently;
1 - Pathetique Sonata mvt 1
2 - Appassionata mvt 3
3 - Moonlight mvt 3
It terms of picking one entire Sonata it would be Pathetique!
Beethoven is my favourite composer!
