For videos I use the Canon VIXIA HF100. I did some searching for around 2 weeks before deciding on this specific model. It offered everything I wanted in a camera.

Here's some pictures of it set up in my piano room! (Where I shoot the lessons.)

Ill take a picture now Razz I actually made a WiiMote-Box into a cameraholder by using scissors and tape Razz
Then I use a carrope, to tow cars with that I hung between the right and the left wall and then taped the cameraholder to it, and then I just lay the camera facing down int the WiiMote-CameraholderBox-Thingy Wink hehehe

Picture on its way:

Hehe, I had to be a little creative. But there are hooks on both sides of the rope, so its very easy to put up there and take them down right away Smile So no scars or anything to the walls or roof Smile

Yea! it turns out to take quite a bit of time. This summer making those 36 reshot lessons, took up about 400 hours of my time. It left me kinda burnt out, but also happy with my work. I'll probably shoot a new lesson in November. So Smile look for # 37 soon! (ish)

Wow! What a setup. You really put a lot of effort into the lighting and sound pickup which has to be the biggest oversight of most amature videos. Definately makes all the difference to all of your HD videos. I've really enjoyed watching them. I have nearly the same Camcorder as you. The Canon HG10 which has a HDD. About 5 hours of HD recording or 15 hours low quality! What mic and lighting did you use? I'm interested for starting my own recordings so that I can record my progress.

I found this company in the UK (Where I live) that does camcorder ceiling mounts: http://www.b-hague.co.uk/Mounting%20Brackets.htm. I might have to get one.

Thomandy is using a sellotaped Wii box hahahaha!

And I agree with the others Andrew, you need more in that room! Posters on the walls, plants in corners! Rugs on the floor, maybe make a hole in the wall for another window!

Your cat is adorable! ^_^ It looks exactly like mine but mine is black. Very Happy Yin-and-Yang!
