Bar scene song from Groundhog's Day?
Hi everyone!
I just stumbled upon Andrew's video series on Youtube and thought it was a great idea AND a great service. I commend you.
As for the song...I've pretty much given up finding it. I've found the composer and performers name, but I can't find the music to it anywhere. All I have is a sound clip I nabbed from the movie. ANYWAY, if someone DOES know where to find it, I would GREATLY appreciate a heads up as to where. It's the song that Bill Murray is [pretending to be] playing when Andy MacDowell walks in to the bar, and subsequently a funny scene where the piano teacher brags about him [Bill Murray] being her student (as far as she knows, she's only had him for one lesson). The song only lasts 48 seconds.
Thanks in advance,
Stan

Re: Bar scene song from Groundhog's Day?
Are you referring to the Rachmaninov piece that he turns kind of jazzy? This one?
[starting about 00:54]
This is one of my favourites! 18th Variation on a Theme by Paganini (Rhapsody)!
I doubt you can find the piece for free, but I found a reasonably cheap (and massive collection) that includes it on ebay for $10:

Sounds kind of difficult... Or maybe this is not the piece
Hope this helps. Best,
Elena.

Yes! That's the clip!
However I'm looking for just the first 48 seconds of boogie. The Paganini piece is what he plays after he see's her. ...or is that boogie selection actually a modded part of the Paganini piece?
Thank you for the FAST response!
