About the site
Hello.
First of all I'd like to congratulate you Andrew for this site, it looks really good
Second of all, is anyone else having trouble with mozilla firefox ? i can't click the buttons also I can see the subcategories for "about andrew" and "piano info" and they are flashing like crazy
It works fine with IE though (except i can't see the videos).
Nathan did a great job, keep up the good work guys

Hey thanks for the comments ^_^ I'm glad you like the site! actually to fix that problem you're having all you need to do is update to the latest version of flash. I had the same problem on another computer, i just downloaded the new flash update and i was good to go!
Re: About the site
If it's still giving you problems after downloading the latest version of Flash then try reinstalling Mozilla Firefox because it might be conflicting with Flash player.
Re: About the site
ahh for some weeks now it is trying to update to a newer version but with no success that must be the problem, i prolly have to reinstal but i'm just too lazy so i`ll use IEJordan wrote:If it's still giving you problems after downloading the latest version of Flash then try reinstalling Mozilla Firefox because it might be conflicting with Flash player.

Yeah, it works fine with me too.
I really like the CSS!!
And on the main site, the graphics are great!
And I really like the moderator's stars.
I don't know, something about them, they're just really cool...

Just one tiny comment
I noticed that the chat always kicks me out (session timeout)
There is not too much of a crowd here so far but if I log in I think it would be better stay inside

The reason why it does that is because if you stay idle without saying anything for a long period of time, it'll time you out and end your session. You need to stay active instead of being inactive when you're in the chat. Although, me and Andrew might have to configure it differently because it might become constant and kick you out every time you're idle.

Re: About the site
I think it would be more beneficial to let people stay in even if they are idle... but I am not a tech wiz maybe there is a reason why it is actually good to configure like that...
Probably my idea of chat is more like messengers.. and if you log in there it is not going to kick you out even if you dont talk.
Hmmm so you are the tech right hand of Andrew You keep up the good work too )
And of course tutvid did an excellent job on it too He deserves credit too.

Yeah, that's what it SHOULD be doing - not kicking anyone out even if they're idle. I'll contact Andrew about that asap and see what we can do.

Awesome! Probably as the forum grows those chats will become more common ^_^
Re: About the site
Congratulations on your site Andrew. I think it's really nice. Usually I don't like the forums on sites because there is no good overview, but I think this one is great. So I guess I'll stick around here
I hope that there will be more people who think like me, because it's a shame if things start getting quiet around here!

I think the reason why it kicks you out of chat is because its trying to save server resources

The site is cooool..
Good job Nathaniel and Andrew!
I hope I can still post here when school days start. By the way, our start of classes here in the Philippines is already on June 10. But I'll do my best to find time to visit the site and post messages on school days.

Re: About the site
Hello Andrew,
I like the site and your youtube videos. They are unique to my eyes for four reasons:
-you don't only explain "how to play x song" but how to learn the piano, technically too.
-you answer to people questions and resquests
-you approach the music theory too (and not only the piano itself).
Your lessons are complete.
-everything's is free. When you know the price of private lessons, it helps me a lot. In Belgium we can learn for low prices in the academies but there are waiting lists. As I already have singing lessons, I am not allowed to subscribe on a waiting list! I do have to learn it by myself or dropping my singing lessons and waiting four or five years.
Thank you very much!
Benoit

Re: About the site
One thing i would suggest with the site is the order of posts,, it would be more streamline to have the newest post display first under a topic, and the oldest post on last.
what does everyone else think???????
i have found this to be very effective on a phpbb forum my friends and myself own for general chatting and organising weekends etc etc.
all you have to when opening a topici s look down to the last post you read (( usually only 2 posts down,, then work your way to the top which doesnt take much time or filtering))
anyways,
CHEERS!!!
Storm.
