Hello from Montana!
Hi! I'm Cricket from Missoula, MT. I just found Andrew's YouTube's last night...or should I say early this morning at around 1:00 AM :D I quickly became addicted to the videos watching the first 3 before I finally went to bed...lol. Andrew, you rock!!
I began lessons a few years ago and continued for about one year until I developed carpal tunnel and had surgery on both hands. It was then that my teacher moved away and I just kind of gave up. I found that I missed piano very much so I bought a Casio PX 720 with the intentions of beginning some sort of lessons again.
I found Andrew's site last night and I now have the motivation to start up again! Right now, I can't afford private lessons, but I will say this...I got more information and learned so many new things from those first three videos than I ever did in my one year of formal lessons.
Thanks Andrew!!

Re: Hello from Montana!
I'm glad you found motivation on your own and as you were at it found Andrew's video to encourage you even more.
That's incredible; I've heard people say this many times now. I can't say that of myself 'cause I haven't had piano classes ever, but It's somehow good to hear this from people that gone through classes and watched Andrew's videos, 'cause it really shows how serious he takes his teaching, specially doing it for free on the net.
Welcome Cricket.

Re: Hello from Montana!
Hello Cricket, and welcome here!
I have never had "real" lessons either, so I can't compare either. But I've seen and read plenty of material, when the urge to play piano finally overwhelmed me, and when I found Andrew's videos, I knew that this was different. I'm not sure what it is, but he has the ability to make this whole subject approachable. After watching the first video or two, I just knew, that even though I won't become a pianist, maybe not even very good to some people's standards, if I put a little effort into it, I can really learn to play the piano, and have loads of fun doing it.
