Hi....... ..
Hi...
I just "discovered" this forum and couldn't wait to be a part of it!
I'm 17, a Uni student and a Man Utd fan...
My piano journey started in February and I'm loving every minute of it.
I've played the bass guitar for about 6yrs and, besides the few things picked up along the way from keyboardist-friends, I was entirely new to piano.
I do think I've come a long way in the past two/three months. I had no sight-reading skills whatsoever when I started, but can now completely play Grade 1 pieces I've never seen before -albeit several lost moments.
There's a post on this board that took me 10mins to read, so I might as well just write it all!
I currently practice with Czerny's Op.599 and Alfred's Basic Adult Piano course [I'm on book 2] and a bit of Hanon now and then.
The pieces I'm able to play so far from a songbook I got -listed according to date completed [I can't tell if any of them is up to performance standard, so I'll most likely post recordings, to get feedback]:
-The Happy Farmer [Schumann]
-Ave Maria; Etude 25, Op.100 [Burgumuller]
-Sonatina Op. 36-1; Ist Mov [Clementi]
-Praeludium 1 [Bach]
Currently working on:
-Romance sans Paroles [Faure]
-Sonatine Op.20-1; 1st Mov. [Kuhlau]
There's no Liszt or Chopin, but I'm getting there...
I'd love to get to know y'all, learn from you, and help however I can.
Thanks Andrew for your videos.

You've been an inspiration
I made lots of sacrifices to get my piano so I literally can't sleep at night if I haven't spent quality time with it!

Hi Phi
Im happy you found us, you do have a great repertoire.
We probably started approx the same time but your dedication brought you a lot further I think.
Looking forward to hear about you and see you playing
Take care
Maggie

I've been an inspiration? Aww well thank you! I'm just trying to share my joy of music with others though so there's nothing to much to admire about me! But thank you very much! It's nice to hear such things from people!
Yes! I can relate to making sacrifices for piano...I pay a pretty hefty chunk of cash every month for my piano, which makes me want to play it even more so i'll get all my money's worth out of it!
Re: Hi....... ..
You're welcome...
Thanks to everyone [Andrew, thomandy, Jordan, Maggie, CripKilla] for the warm welcome.
Unfortunately, I haven't got my camcorder here with me in school and I'm waiting to have it sent from home, then I'll make recordings.
