Leo or teo? What does this mean? Empty Leo or teo? What does this mean?

Hi, long time no see! I actually had to re-activate my account to get in here affraid

I'm currently doing this piece: http://www.scribd.com/doc/2416992/Yann-Tiersen-Comptine-autre-ete

Leo or teo? What does this mean? Udklip11_big_thumb

I have a couple of questions:

1. How should the rhythm be flowing? Should it be played fluently and "smooth" or should the tempo become faster and faster?

2. What does this leo-teo-thing mean? I couldn't find anything on Google - maybe I haven't read it properly; maybe it isn't 'leo' or 'teo', but another word?

3. I found out that 'sim...' "is short for 'simile' which means - continue in the same way." But in which "same way" should I continue? I guess that builds upon the leo-teo (or whatever it says)?

I believe it is actually "Ped"
Depress the sustain pedal at "Ped" and release at *

I think (am guessing) that the sim. means continue the same Ped * action.

That definitely makes sense, thanks!

Now I just need some info about the "flowing" rhythm, if it means anything at all...

Yeah that just means depress the pedal then and the star means to lift it then. And I suppose just repeat in that way with depressing at the start of those 4 and letting go at the end of them.

As for the flowing, just play it flowing and smoothly kinda like a legato type thing maybe. Almost positive it shouldn't be slowly getting faster and faster because then it would have said "accelerando" somewhere.

I really like this piece Very Happy If you liston to it on youtube or something, you will hear that it just flows... Its smooth, relaxing and goes at it's own nice tempo. So you wont need to speed up or slow down suddenly.

The PED and * like they say, are for pedaling. The sim does mean continue the same way. You just release the pedal when you get too a new set of 8th notes, then quickly and then press it back down again. If you dont pedal enough, you will get a loud noise distorting the music. Andrew has a lesson on pedaling if you haven't seen it already Smile
