My turn ^^
Hello everyone!
I dream of playing the piano professionally, someday in the future, not to make a carreer as a pianist, but because I love the sound of it, and it's the most special instrument to me since my childhood. For me, playing the piano is similar to when a child walks around holding a comforting teddy bear. It may seem unnecessary, but it's an important part in my life (not holding a teddy bear, but playing the piano that is ).
And so my goals for the piano are:
- to have fun! I LOVE playing the piano, I think more than hearing it being played.
- to express myself, my feelings. There are some things I do to get myself on harmony: wear purple clothes, play the piano. When I'm angry/sad/frustrated/glad/excited/in love/in despair: I play songs that reflect that feeling, because that's how I express myself X)
- to learn music theory so I can understand the music in a deeper sence - this will only make me love playing the piano even more! And I'll also learn how...
... - to read music sheets! It's hard to find tab sheets (are they called that? you know, the "cheat sheets" with A/B/C/and so on:P ) and in many cases impossible to find tutorials on how to play certain songs.
- to practice my concentration. When I play well then I know I'm concentrating properly. This has helped me in other tasks as well
- to entertain family and friends, especially my mom, who tends to start day dreaming as soon as I play the piano. She loves to hear me playing, and I love to see her smile. ^^
Right now I have two synthesizers that my brother gave me before he went to study abroad, but I'd like to play on and own a piano someday. Unfortunately, in an appartment, playing on a real piano isn't a good idea, so that will have to wait unti I/we move to a house or something.
Well, no more to say, let's start practicing!
