Hi folks,

Many thanks to Andrew for his welcome message and hello to everyone else on the forum.

I'm really impressed with what I've seen so far, not just on the forum but elsewhere on the site. I'm not exactly a newbie and have taken piano lessons before, though not for a good many years. So I can play a bit and read music, albeit v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. I'm going to have to look very carefully at the site before deciding exactly where to pitch in and hopefully other forum members can help me along the way.

Incidentally, I'm from the UK where it's about 20 degrees below zero at the moment and the novelty of huge quantities of snow is beginning to wear off I can tell you. In fact, if I see just one more snowman .... !

Anyway, time to go out and throw a few snowballs at the neighbours.

Speak soon.

P.S. Does anybody have any good alternatives to snowmen? I saw a really impressive dalek recently!

Welcome to the forum! You can try a sculpture instead of just a snow man:

Hello from the UK. Snow_sculpture_people_and_dragon

But maybe a Dalek would be easier Very Happy Doctor Who was broacasted in German TV some time ago, too, and I like it.

Wow! Those sculptures are not really made of snow are they? Are you just pulling my leg (one can never tell these days)?

Whatever it is they're made of, I'm impressed. So impressed they've inspired me to search for some appropriate music to play? Not sure whether it should be on an heroic theme or just some silly tune to the accompaniment of snow. Anyone have any suggestions?

Then I really must get down to exploring this site and finding out where to start on the subject of playing the piano.

Bye for now.

P.S. Dr. Who appears to be taking the world by storm all over again!
