What do you love besides playing the piano?
Hi,
I am curious to know what things you love to do, that makes you happy, besides playing the piano.
I love to :
* read, especially about nature, adventure, inspiring people and psychology.
* go into the mountains with a backpack and walk for days.
* play sports
* good movies, like 'As it is in heaven' and 'Etre et avoir'
What makes you happy?

(because of the space I left out the quote...)
Wow, Aendym, you did that drawing? That is really good! I love art, but I do not have much talent in that
area

Re: What do you love besides playing the piano?
I do all kind of strange science things for fun. E.g. the following model was posted in a rapid prototyping forum as some kind of water organ and I tried the fluid module of the 3D modelling program Blender for testing it:
Sometimes I like to do mathematics, too, and creating nice pictures from it: http://www.frank-buss.de/magnetfeld/
And of course programming, e.g. I have implemented a generations cellular automaton in 181 bytes (without sound)

Nice drawing! I've tried painting and drawing, too, but I think I have no talent, or maybe I'm too impatient.
Re: What do you love besides playing the piano?
Music, movies and mostly art stuff. I do game from time to time, but not much. when I was a kid I could play for hours everyday, but now I dont feel gaming gives me much. i've almost completely stopped plaing games without goals/meaning like Counter Strike where you just do the same over and over again without much story.
Photography ( Havent done much this year tho ):

I've planned to buy a 5D mkii, been for a while, but since I'm poor I cant afford it right now. I'm mostly in for it because of the video feature, would love to do 3D tracking. Been experimenting with 3d tracking with my old SD cam, but it's just to lovres and not easy to work with. I wanna be a pro director of photography or a camera operator , but doubt that's gonna happen ^_^
3D Max, my old and new room, curtains look flat:
A few weeks ago I figured a way to make life like curtains in 3D Max.
Curtain animation
I watch alot of movies, and play my piano everyday
I almost forgot exercising, 3x7km a week and some weight lifting. Not been doing much of that this month tho
EDIT: By the way, i'm gonna have nightmares of crying girls tonight, that image was scary

That looks like my kids when I kick them off my keyboard because it's my turn to play. - beautiful drawing. Amazing!
@jis - I love the outdoors too, but don't get a chance much these days to get out there.
@Frank - I'm a science geek too. I don't do any experimenting at home, but I follow science news and the most of tv I watch is science shows. It drives my wife nuts!
@Victor - I like photography too, but I'm not very good. Excellent work!
As for me, I like all things science. I enjoy working on puzzles.
I think I used to enjoy a lot of other things, but the past 6 months have pretty much been dominated by piano, so I've forgotten most of those things.

Re: What do you love besides playing the piano?
Thanks for the compliments on the drawing and victor: I have plenty drawings of crying kids! hahaha... I drew a cover for a book once that was about children and I was supposed to catch the moods of them. So I did a whole lot of kids: crying, screaming, smiling, laughing, mad, sad, whatever you like... name it and I think I should have it. =)
This drawing was my favourite though, cause I always feel like I have to hold my ears or I might go deaf!

Re: What do you love besides playing the piano?
- I am an addicted photographer always have at least a point-and-shoot with me but recently after so much waiting I managed to buy a digital SLR camera (Olympus E510) and now I am learning how to make better pictures and how to have more control over how I want my photos to look.
Check out my older photos on Flickr:

My photo collection on my computer is competing with my sheet music collection but so far the sheet music takes up much more space
- I always loved to read since I can remember but these days I have a lot less time so now I am fond of audiobooks If I dont feel like listening to music I have books accessible to listen to. I enjoy if the author reads it for us. Right now I am listening to American on purpose from Craig Ferguson. He is very amusing. (He is a late night show-host in US)
- Another very time-consuming hobby of mine is sewing. I love to "redesign" clothing to my taste and needs or just create something new without any pre-existing patterns.
@Victor: I checked out your site, loved the pictures you posted, you should post more )
@aendym: love your style, I can almost hear her screaming
In high school I took art classes, to draw I need peace and time, as a mother it is challenging to find the time and the quiet :DDD
