Dorian Mode, Solfege, and Figure Base Empty Dorian Mode, Solfege, and Figure Base

Hello,

Just as the title says; I think it would be really cool if you could give an in-depth view on Dorian Modes, Figure Base, and Solfege and how they apply to playing piano.

This is stuff we are learning right now in my music theory class and though I see why they would be a necessity for composition, I have trouble seeing it's usefulness in actually playing. Except maybe solfege which would obviously help for sight-reading.

And figure base appears to have either gone completely over my head or I have over complicated it for myself....

Yea so um that's my idea for a future lesson. In-depth look at music theory terms and how/why they apply to playing an instrument such as piano.
