Re: Aaron's Performances
Hey there! I just Watched your performance! BRAVO! ^_^ I thought it sounded wonderful ^_^
Here's some idea's I've got for you.
When you play the AEA part in th left hand you hold all the notes, but when you play EE G# you play them and let go as you play them. You should be playing both the same way so it creates more consistency in your playing. I'm not sure if your keyboard has a pedal? If it doesn't that could be why you're holding the AEA part. it also seemed a little rushed, just take a deep breath and don't forget to BREATHE
Try taking time in between phrases and making the whole thing flow. I know you're still learning so these comments weren't meant to be insulting! I hope you aren't upset, but these things are ways to make it better
All in all I thought it was WONDERFUL to hear you play!!! Bravo!!
Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone!! I'm looking forward to hearing many more AWESOME videos from you!

1000AD-
WOW! You played this very nicely! Quite steady rhythm, singing melody line, clear LH, very well done, and you looked so happy playing the song! It made ME happy just watching!
I LOVED the ending the way you came off the last note so happily!
Thanks for sharing this one!!

Re: Aaron's Performances
Thank you guys. Thanks for the motivation! ^_^
ahhh. yeah.. it's a digital piano w/out pedals. I kinda rely on the echo And it's only a keyboard with 44 keys. O.o Really really old one at that, 21 years old. But I love playing it! I'll take note of it and practice it Andrew. Yeah, I had to press it to sustain the sound. maybe that's why I'm having a bit of a hard time.
I'm a vid game afficionado and playing songs from these games and especially CT, I feel very very ecstatic! I'm really glad you liked it. ^_~

I dont really know games and stuff but I really liked this melody. It is great that you solved the camera problem so fast we just need to enjoy the music and not complain about the technical parts. Let me tell you I was actually impressed by the sound of that instrument especially after reading that it is 21 years old.
I hope you will post more of your game treasures.
Re: Aaron's Performances
Thanks Maggie! I used my cellphone! I really though it would come out bad since I played it on the phone and it didn't sound well. I'll be posting more soon. (^^,)

Re: Aaron's Performances
Aaron,
Outstanding playing. I've been a piano teacher for a number of years. There are a lot of great things in both videos. I'll just focus on 1000AD for now.
-Good pulse, rhythm
-The spot at 25 seconds where you play those two chords, the articulation is really nice there. Excellent contrast to the smooth left hand.
-The spot with the only black notes in the left hand has a really nice contrast. I see that you felt the dissonance there (even if maybe you didn't call it dissonance) and brought that section out, just like you should. That interesting harmony gives the end its finality. You get that part.
-The right hand stays light and melodic above the left hand. It sings beautifully.
-Nice job contrasting the dotted notes in the melody with the constant rhythm in the left hand. Sounds smooth and easy, but I'd bet at first it wasn't. Some good work there making that easy.
That's what most impresses me about this video. The song isn't frere jacques - it's a bit tough. But you've obviously focused your work on making the song feel easy. A lot of people practice but the song ends up just sounding hard. Great work there.
I was a little confused in the beginning. I've never heard the song before, so maybe those pauses are just how it goes. Or perhaps that was the minor mistake you were referring to. Otherwise, lots of great things here. Congratulations on your progress.
It was courageous of you to post that. Thanks for sharing. I hope to see more.
