What does this mean?
I was just looking at different sheet music and on O Canada i noticed this wierd part on the first line, fourth bar. Are they telling you to play a whole note and a half note at the same time sort of?

Yeah, its at the same time! Hold the upper note for the full bar, and the lower note for half of the bar, and then play the next 1/2 while still holding the 1/1 note
