Really Wondering...
...Accidentals in composition. Whenever I'm learning a piece or trying to compose, I'm wondering: How all these accidentals sounds so good?(classical pieces mostly)
Basicaly you go out of the tonality you're in. But how can you do that in your own composition?
That is really torturing me!!!!!!!

If you got the talent, there is still hours of composing and practice to come before you get good at it. You have to use your ear a lot, and listen for the good accidentals! Im doing a composition now, with some accidentals! Its sort of new to me to experiment with it, but its coming along

Re: Really Wondering...
Oh! so there is no rule at all? At first I thought it was modulation or something...

Re: Really Wondering...
It's more about how it sounds, and less about rules.

Well there is lots of rules, and I dont know them all. I getting a lot better at modulation after analyzing Chopin and trying and failing

And yeah, there is rules!!!! BUT, a big but here:
Beethoven:
"I only learn the rules so I know how to break them"

Its how well you know how to break the rules that separates you from a poor, good or genius composer

Re: Really Wondering...
