hay im lerning the first song from the album for the young it's coming along good i can play most of both hands apart and that is fine i have a question about the key . it has no sharps of flats how cam i tell if it's in C M or A m. ??

What note does the piece start on in the Left hand?? If its a A the chances are huge that its in Aminor.
If its a C the chances are huge that its in Cmajor. Also if there isnt any modulation? The chances are almost = 100% that the piece End on the note that the piece is written in Smile

Also if your ear is good, you can probably sence the difference! Just play the Amin scale and the CMaj scale, and try to feel the mood, then compare to the mood in the piece Smile

mm modulation im almost up to that lesson i know what it is but thats about it lol. the first note on bass clef iis a E and the last is a E the mood sounds like a Aminor

Well... E is C-Majors 3rd and A-Minors 5th... Its unusual to start with harmony on the 3rd or/and 5th note.
But I would guess its a pickup-note. I know that Liszt starts with a pickup-note(the 5th) in the Bass in Liebestraum ... anyways, I did find a list, and I now know that: Melodie is in C-Major Smile

From what I can tell, the piece aims for tension, and don't really release this tension until the very last Melody-note that is in fact C. The harmony ends on a G! So its a tension-filled piece with an open ending Smile

But I haven't analyzed it very closely, but that is what I would guess from a short glance at the sheets Smile
