Re: Casy's vids
Thabks for the comments ! Happy to share!
Tonight I skipped my practice session, don't tell anyone!
But got this instead... it was worth it, at least I had a great great time taking the videos!
Hope you enjoy, my friends
First Improv: "Puddles of Light"
Second one: "There is hope"

Great Elena It sounds very good
How have you come to be such a good improveartist?
And how do you practice in general?? :-)

That was AWESOME... I loved the way you changed timing.
This makes me wonder what you'll come up with when you've mastered eye-splitting arpeggios... hehe..
Good work... thanks for sharing!

Re: Casy's vids
Farewell Waltz was a completely different class than Serenade, not that Serenade was bad,
but lets say it this way, the Waltz was a hit, and the Serenade was just ok...
But it's like that with alot of things, out of 100 tries, only 1 is GREAT.
Keep up the good work, I wanna see more improves, you're 30 years and started playing last year, it seems like piano have no age limit.
I bet that's why we all love it, it looks hard, but when we first understand, it's very easy, just hit the right keys, and there we go.
And the best thing about it, we can improvise,we dont need a composed piece on a sheet to make music.

Re: Casy's vids
Nice and moody! (Moody is a good thing) hehe
It suits me. It got me thinking sort of. It woke that feeling in me. And that is what it is all about.
To create emotions Either they are happy ones, sad ones or others.. Great! ==)))))=))))

Re: Casy's vids
Your Serenade "glued" me to my computer's screen, in a way that i haven't felt before in a while...
I really don't think you understand what you just created on that improv. I love it.
It's probably the best you did ever!!
I wish i did something like that, it's so simple yet so powerfull... I miss when i started playing the piano, didn't knew any of the "rules" i know today and made up incredible and such different stuff like you just did.
Congratulations!!

Well that is where tast comes to matter! I loved the Serenade
Re: Casy's vids
Every single song is different, some touches me deeper than others.
The Waltz had a hypnotic effect on me.
I still admire your talent.
I hope that you will share more of your pieces later. Enjoy summer as much you can.

Re: Casy's vids
Waltz felt like a more constraint song, while Serenade seemed kind of free, more concise and direct.

Re: Casy's vids
Thanks
My teacher is hopefully, about to come back, so now I will focus on my practice pieces :s
Nevertheless, I managed to find a book with easy pieces and there was the Song of Twilight (the one Andrew played in one of his performances):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfGTmlxRQZc
I am practising it now. It's so beautiful and simple!
So this may be my next project, or maybe something else... who knows?
I'm really thankful for having found you all, and discover so many things that otherwise would be so less accessible and even unknown!
So thank you!
Best,
Elena.

The last one for today is a small song from The Legend of Zelda:
I've never played, by I listened by chance to a performance on YouTube and I loved it instantly!
And here's a link to the sheet music:
