Looks like this is more similar to the YouTube video, if you use organ, only, and ignore the organ pedals. Another performance:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_TP2m86DPU
The chords are played differently in this video, like written in the sheets. In the video Klavier cited, they sometimes start in parallel with the melody notes. I like the one by Cyprien Katsaris more.
And another one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVP6uWKBMbk
The good thing of this part is that it is slow, so even a beginner has a chance to play it, but to make it sound nice would be still difficult.
Re: My performances UPDATED! Another Improv? I think xD
You're right for a beginner to freely express the music is going to be tough.

This sounds like this with the MIDI output feeding into my P85:
http://www.frank-buss.de/tmp/lacrimosa.mp3
So the melody is right and the chords are a bit different than in the YouTube video. Of course, it sounds terrible, because looks like this is a more complicated song, where you have to do some sophistaced legato, tempo etc. Too difficult for me as a beginner. But with lots of passion you could watch the YouTube video in stop motion and write the notes down, maybe with the additional help of the original sheet.
PS: the melody is F major, so don't forget to press the black key for e.g. the 4th note in my sheet
Thank you frank! You're awesome to go to this trouble for little ol' me I understand it a lot better now and I'll keep you posted on my progress, probably upload a youtube vid of me playing it. And thanks for drawing my attention to Cyprien Katsaris' version, I love it too.

I've never ever had trouble expressing myself or breathing life into anything its always the technical aspects which give me trouble, I'm hoping it'll be just like this with piano.
----------------------------------------------------------------
It seems lots of people, even famous composers like Liszt just transcript this piece, adds notes to it, keeps the core melody and generally add their own uniqueness to it so I guess I don't need to be so specific as to know anything other than the core aspects, it'll be very fun to add my own edge to Lacrimosa.

If it took 3 hours, wouldn't it be a composition, not an improv?

Hiya!
I didn't have to do anything so I just sat down and played. I called it "The Frustrated Pianist" either that or "WTF?!"
Im experiencing all the flu like symptoms so I'm sorry about the coughing.

Re: My performances UPDATED! Another Improv? I think xD
Yeah! Improvs ( based on my own perspective ) are reflections of a persons character. Take my "Frustrated Pianist" for example. My friends says its a fun and spontaneous which is why they say its fits me very well.
Improv's and composition tell you a lot about a persons charater and attitude, well that's what I think anyway.
P.S: I went to school the day after my health improved down side is my professor sent me home to rest Nyahahahahahahaha
