Hello everybody !
This is my first post here, so i tell something about myself.
Firstly - sorry for my "rigid english". I am from Poland (Europe Smile) So first idea what i have is surname Andrew Furmańczyk = polish surname and first question "Andrew do You speak polish ?" .

I try to learn piano. I have Casio Privia PX-110 instrument. It is digital piano. Here is photo: http://www.keyboards.pl/PX_110.jpg

I love Chopin and started play him. I tried learn Etude Op 10 no 1 (C major), Fantasie Impromptu (C-sharp minor op.66) and actually i start practise with Etude Op10 No 12 (also C-sharp minor).

Mostly i play with ear for music, but sheets un-understanding make me troubles. I need to slow transcribe each piece. I read notes slowlyyyyy.

I have played the guitar also, but piano allow me for more melodic feelings.

I am going to ask You here how to play and thanks for each advise.

hey! Welcome ^_^ yes I do have a polish name, but sadly I don't speak polish as I've lived in canada my whole life.

Smile don't worry about reading notes slow. The key to reading faster is simple, read more Smile learn intervals and memorize the places of each key ^_^

pretty good! Smile You're off to a good start. One thing that will help is if you can get ahold of a better keyboard, the one you have is limiting you and will hurt your technique development in the end. ^_^ get something with full weighted keys! Very Happy

Your hands look a little over curled. they should be relaxed yet firm when you push the key down and then relax again. Use the weight of your arm to keep the key down Smile

hope that helps!

Yes, you are right. This is similar to guitar playing - relaxed hand make its faster. But i only once played normal piano. My digital keyboard is weighted but never will be the same as in proffesional piano. In my "Casio" seems that i need use force&power to press keys. Thx for advices, i ll try play more relaxed and flexible for my hands. Slow doesnt mean bad Question
