Hey all. My name's Scott. I'm 20 (21 in August!) and am currently on summer break, having just finished my 2nd year of college. I attend Kent State University and am going for a major in Computer Science and a minor in Applied Mathematics. I've been wanting to learn how to play the piano for most of my life, but didn't get around to it until a few years ago. I thrive in an auto-didactic environment, so I've learned quite a bit on my own. I took a music course in college last year (Understanding Music) which taught me a fair bit about music theory and such. This site has been an excellent resource for me as well. I've always wanted to have private piano lessons, but have never been able to do so for various reasons (living in the middle of nowhere has its downsides). Andrew's videos have proven to be a great learning tool.

I recently ordered a scalebook, and have many John Schaum Piano Course books that my grandma lent me. Once the book arrives I intend on beginning another daily practice regime. I say "another" because I've attempted this a few times before, but end up quitting because I just lost interest. Thus, I have a weird range of piano playing skills, and a ton of knowledge regarding music theory. I just need to practice regularly. This time, however, I intend on committing to the practice schedule. Unfortunately I don't have a real piano to practice on, only a 61 key Yamaha PSR-290 keyboard. While it has touch sensitivity, it isn't the real thing. It does have a damper pedal though.

I'm glad I sighted Andrew's videos on YouTube one day. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. Very Happy
