"Practicing Cold
Practice playing memorized pieces "cold" (without warming up your hands); this is obviously more difficult than with warmed up hands but practicing under adverse conditions is one way of strengthening your ability to perform in public and improve the memory. This ability to just sit down and play cold, with an unfamiliar piano or environment, or just several times a day when you have a few minutes, is one of the most useful advantages of memorizing. And you can do this anywhere, away from home, when your music score may not be available. Practicing cold prepares you to play at a gathering, etc., without having to play Hanon for 15 minutes before you can perform. Playing cold is an ability that is surprisingly easily cultivated, although it may seem almost impossible at first. If you have never practiced cold before, you will be surprised at how quickly you can improve this skill. This is a good time to find those passages that are too difficult to play with cold hands and to practice how to slow down or simplify difficult sections. If you make a mistake or have a blackout, don't stop and backtrack, but practice keeping at least the rhythm or melody going and playing through the mistake."

But playing when your "cold" is not good for your hands..... You'll never see a football/soccer player start cold.....
Ofcourse, if it's an easy piece, playing "cold" is ok, since it's like walking, but you can play a grade 8-9 "cold",
that would be like running without warming up. And that's never a good thing to do ^_^

The author the site his searching for a translator of his book in any language. Because he wants it to be share to everyone.

Of course the author of the book what Pianohama just showed
He is looking for translators so this book would be the biggest free pianobook.

'Thumb over' is hard. Or not. Depends on if I get it or not.
Yarr. Really like it though. Dont do Hanon, dont practice playing things that you dont perfom..

Ok ive read it and for my style i find it useful in some ways and useless for anothers, i agree and dont agree with something in it, also you should do Hanon, the book of Hanon in general is very good and it is really helpful

I was just commenting on what the book says.
But I do agree though, why would you practice something you cant perform. In 3 months Im having my first performance, probably infront of 150 people. I need to be better then what I am now.
And I need to improve as much as I can in as littlest time.
