Scales/Chords versus piece practice
I'm new at this but quickly realized I need some structure. Say you have an hour a day to practice how much time would you spend practicing scales, chords, triads etc. and how much time on learning and playing general music? I bought a couple of years worth of workbooks from RCM series.

Re: Scales/Chords versus piece practice
You should always run through scales, chords, triads, rhythmic exercise, and sight reading at least once. That should take up about 15 - 20 min.
Take another 10 - 15 min to work on improvisation experiments. You can use a backing track to help you with this. For example, play the backing track groove in G major and start experimenting with different scales and improvisational ideas. After that, spend the remaining of your time, learning and practicing music for the remaining time left.
